HBO Max Adding 145 Movies On October 1

HBO Max on October 1 plans to add 145 new movies to its lineup, including some relatively recent hits and classic movies stretching back to the 1930s.

The new films will include Boogie Nights, the 1997 dazzling second film from director Paul Thomas Anderson which stars Mark Wahlberg as a teen bus boy who’s recruited to join the adult film business by one of its top directors, played with steely aplomb by Burt Reynolds; the four Lethal Weapon movies which stars Mel Gibson as a suicidal cop with a charming fetish for the Three Stooges; the three Matrix films starring Keanu Reeves; Open Water, the gripping 2004 drama based on a real-life story of two swimmers who get lost in the middle of the ocean; Us, the 2019 horror film from Jordan Peele which stars Lupita Amondi Nyong’o as a woman who’s haunted by doppelgangers; and Best in Show (pictured above), the 2000 mockumentary about an annual canine competition from director/actor Christopher Guest.
